A prehistoric site on the Isle of Lewis in Scotland. What a magical location to exchange your wedding vows! It has Outlander rings to it, doesn’t it? Leah and Gerald traveled from the US to this enchanting location for their elopement.

Maureen, the photographer: It is a mystical and ancient sacred site. It is just [erfect for intimate, spiritual ceremonies.
What are Your top tips for planning a destination wedding/elopement in this location?
Maureen: Allow for plenty of time for travel, in case of any ferry delays. You’ll want to soak in the location so don’t rush your stay!
When is the best time of day/year to plan a destination wedding/elopement in this location?
Maureen: Early morning or late afternoon brings the nicest light, earlier is usually better to get the place to yourself! I would recommend Spring for weddings, as it often brings the nicest weather, and can be less busy than peak Summer.
Do you need any permits or permission from landowners for this location?
Maureen: None are needed currently, I believe things are soon to change though, so absolutely do your research beforehand.
What advice would you give to others planning a destination wedding/elopement in this location?
Maureen: Choose local suppliers who know the area well. You’ll want someone on the ground to recommmend other suppliers, and places for your photographs. It can be hard planning logistics when you’re so far away. Scottish island life has it’s own vibe, things can be pretty old school and it’s not always easy finding what you need online.
