Remember that no deal is a great deal if you weren’t going to buy it anyway. Sometimes it’s easy to get carried away with Black Friday sales offers (speaking from personal experience here), and end up spending MORE than you would have otherwise spent. Here are some tips to help you make the best of the Black Friday deals, without ending up with buyer’s remorse:
1. Make a list ahead of time
We tend to spend more money overall when we buy on impulse. And Black Friday sales marketing knows that. They know that the short window of deals makes many people buy items spontaneously because it was a limited-time deal. To make sure you don’t end up buying things you don’t actually want on Black Friday, we recommend making a list ahead of time of the things that you actually want, so that once the deals go live, you can shop with intention.
2. Check Online Marketplaces and E-Commerce sites too
While there might be some individual brands that you are following to see if they have Black Friday sales, don’t forget to keep an eye on other e-commerce and specialty online marketplaces, too. Sites like Etsy, Not on the Highstreet, and even resale sites like Poshmark and Vinted also often have offers and promotions.
3. Set A Budget
No matter whether you’re shopping for products or services, set your budget before you start shopping and stick to it. That way, you shouldn’t be tempted to overspend just because something seems like a good deal.
