Eileen Castle, more commonly known as Eilean Donan Castle, is one of Scotland’s most iconic and picturesque castles. Situated on a small tidal island where three sea lochs meet (Loch Duich, Loch Long, and Loch Alsh) in the western Highlands, it offers a stunning backdrop for any event, but especially for a wedding.

Fiona and Tatiana picked this stunning location for their micro wedding and brought guests in from all around the world.

The brides opted for a moment together as well, exchanging personal vows while having beautiful photos taken.

How was this location chosen?

The couple live in northern Scotland and had attended another wedding at the castle which they loved.

You can have both a symbolic and a legal ceremony here.

How easy is the location to access? Is it suitable for all ages and abilities?

Arriving at the location is easy but there are some steep old stairs to navigate inside. The castle team are very good at assisting those with additional mobility needs.

Any other advice you’d Like to share based on your experience?

From Rosie, the photographer: This couple had a intimate shoot the evening before the wedding – it gave them a fabulous pause in the hectic run up to the wedding day and time to reconnect just the two of them. They shared their personal vows, alone on the side of a mountain – it was an incredibly special moment.
