Katrina & Richard, a couple from Canada wanted to celebrate their love story with a vow exchange in enchanting Gordes, France in the Provence region. They also headed to stunning nearby Roussillon and then onto the fragrant lavender fields beneath Lacoste. It was a dream elopement in the heart of Provence.

Karina, the photographer: As one of the most beautiful villages in France, Gordes is like a fairy tale. The light is exquisite and the village is so charming. It’s just an incredible place for an elopement.
What are Your top tips for planning a destination wedding/elopement in this location?
Karina, the photographer: It’s a really relaxed place and easy place to get married. Come with the intention of relaxation and nature all around you. It’s easy to get to, but you’ll need a rental car. There are many options for lodging, but they book early, so it’s best if you can do a bit of planning.
When is the best time of day/year to plan a destination wedding/elopement in this location?
Karina, the photographer: Any time of year could be nice, but Spring to Autumn is ideal, even though it’s hot in summer, it’s still so beautiful, plan to begin in the early morning. May and September are also beautiful months and a bit less hot.
What advice would you give to others planning a destination wedding/elopement in this location?
Karina, the photographer: Be prepared to relax and enjoy nature and the charm of Provence, it’s a place that moves slowly and that’s it s charm. Couples should love the outdoors and the beauty of nature, as well as charming Provençal villages to get the most out of this location.
