Meet Benni & Carol
Tell us your story
We are Benedetta and Carolina, sisters, business partners and the team behind Benni Carol Photography. We were born and raised in Italy, and although life has taken us in different directions – with Benni now living in Hastings in the UK and Carolina still based in Italy – our roots, our values, and the places that shaped our childhood continue to anchor everything we do. Photography has always been a shared language between us, a way to celebrate the landscapes we love and the connections between people.
Our passion lies in nature, travel, slow living and outdoor adventures. We grew up spending our summers hiking in the Alps and our winters skiing in Val di Susa, so being in the mountains feels like home. When we discovered that we could combine our love for storytelling with our love for Italy’s wild, lesser-known landscapes, everything fell into place.

How long have you been working in the wedding industry?
We have been photographing weddings and elopements for over a decade. What began as a small creative collaboration gradually grew into a full-time international business, allowing us to serve couples from all over the world who feel connected to Italy’s landscapes and to a more intentional way of celebrating their love. Over the years, we have specialised more and more in intimate weddings and elopements, especially for couples drawn to nature, adventure and meaningful experiences.
What made you get into weddings & elopements?
Weddings came naturally to us because they sit exactly where our passions meet: storytelling, human connection, and the beauty of real, unfiltered emotion. But it was elopements that truly captured our hearts. We realised that couples who choose to celebrate in nature – on a mountain at sunrise, on a cliff overlooking the sea, in a tiny medieval village – create something deeply intentional and personal.
As adventure lovers ourselves, we were drawn to the energy of days that are less about spectacle and more about the couple’s story, their journey together, and the landscape that surrounds them. Elopements allowed us to blend artistry with the outdoors, and we never looked back.
What do you love about intimate weddings and elopements?
Intimate weddings and elopements allow people to breathe. When there’s no pressure to perform or follow convention, couples can fully immerse themselves in the experience – in the vows, the scenery, the small moments that matter. We love how elopements strip everything back to what is essential: the relationship between two people and the landscape they choose as their witness.
We also love how personal the planning becomes. Every elopement is different. Every day is shaped around the couple – their story, their pace, their vision. Being able to craft experiences that are meaningful, sustainable and connected to nature is something we find deeply fulfilling.

How would you describe your approach to your work?
Our approach is natural, documentary-driven and quietly intentional. We guide when needed, but never stage moments or force anything that doesn’t feel authentic. We prioritise storytelling over trends, connection over perfection, and atmosphere over aesthetics. For us, photography is about creating a space where couples can be themselves and allowing genuine moments to unfold organically.
Because we also plan elopements, we bring structure and organisation when needed – especially for couples travelling internationally – but our presence on the day remains calm and unobtrusive. We aim to blend into the environment, using light, landscape and emotion to craft images that feel timeless.

What’s your favourite part of a wedding day?
Our favourite moment is always the vows – whether whispered on a mountaintop or exchanged in a small Italian village square. That quiet emotional core of the day is what makes everything meaningful. We also love the in-between moments: the hike to the ceremony spot, the wind picking up at the ridge, the shared laughter during portraits, or the peaceful silence at sunrise.
Those are the moments that reveal who a couple truly is, and they are often the ones they cherish most when they look back at their photos.
What advice would you give couples who are in the process of planning a wedding or elopement?
Choose a celebration that genuinely reflects who you are, not what you feel pressured to do. Whether that means hiking to a remote viewpoint, gathering just a few loved ones, or embracing a slow day in a small Italian town, the most memorable celebrations are the ones that feel personal and intentional.
Also, trust your vendors. A good team will guide you through the process, help simplify the logistics, and ensure that your day flows naturally. And finally, prioritise the experience over the schedule – the less you rush, the more you’ll remember.
When you’re not at a wedding, what do you love doing?
We spend as much time as possible outdoors. Hiking, trail running, skiing, and travelling are all part of our rhythm. Benni also trains regularly for running events, while Carolina loves rock climbing, mountain adventures and exploring new places with her family.
When we’re not travelling for work, you’ll often find us in Val di Susa or in the Italian countryside, recharging, being with family, and reconnecting with the landscapes that inspire our photography.
Do you have a dream wedding or elopement you’d love to do?
On the very top of Mont Blanc – though we say it half jokingly – would be a dream for the adventurous spirit in us. But if we had to choose a place close to our hearts, it would absolutely be the Alps of our childhood: Val di Susa and the surrounding valleys. These mountains are not as widely known to foreign couples, yet they are incredibly beautiful, authentic and meaningful to us personally.
Another dream location would be the Aeolian Islands. The combination of wild volcanic landscapes, the Mediterranean sea, secluded paths and dramatic sunsets would make for an unforgettable elopement experience.
