Meet Jlenia & Gemma at Dolomites Wedding Planner

Tell us your story

We’re Jlenia and Gemma — wedding planners, locals, and outdoor lovers with a deep connection to the Dolomites.

One of us grew up in these mountains, the other chose them as home, but we both share the same passions: nature, movement, good food, and creating experiences that feel real and intentional. When we’re not planning weddings, you’ll find us hiking, skiing, biking, or enjoying long lunches with friends and family — very much inspired by the rhythm of mountain life.

Dolomites Wedding Planner was born from a simple belief: weddings should feel personal, effortless, and deeply connected to the place they happen in. No formulas, no copy-paste — just thoughtful celebrations shaped around each couple and their story.

We work in a very hands-on way. We’re involved, present, and genuinely invested in every wedding we take on. From the first ideas to the last details, we care deeply about how the day feels — not just how it looks. Our local knowledge and long-standing relationships allow us to build the right team, handle logistics smoothly, and quietly solve problems before they ever reach our couples.

What truly defines our work is the way we show up: fully committed, attentive, and with heart. Because when something matters to our couples, it matters to us too.

How long have you been working in the wedding industry?

Dolomites Wedding Planner was officially founded in 2018 by Jlenia. What began as a one-woman vision naturally evolved, with Gemma joining the team part-time in 2019 and then full-time in 2022. Since then, the company has grown into a close-knit partnership, planning weddings and elopements across the Dolomites with a shared approach, strong local roots and years of hands-on experience.

What made you get into weddings & elopements?

It started naturally. We both come from backgrounds where organisation and people matter – and we realised early on that weddings are a perfect mix of logistics, creativity and human connection.

What do you love about intimate weddings and elopements?

They allow couples to be fully present. There’s less noise, less pressure, and more room for emotion and spontaneity. Intimate weddings feel lighter and more intentional, as nothing is done “just because”.

How would you describe your approach to your work?

Hands-on, thoughtful and very personal. We’re deeply involved at every stage, from the first idea to the last detail. We combine strong local knowledge with careful planning, flexibility and a calm presence on the day. Our goal is to make the process feel smooth and reassuring, while creating something that truly reflects the couple.

What’s your favourite part of a wedding day?

Right after the ceremony, when the pressure and nerves finally start melting away, couples start to relax and actually truly enjoy the moment.

What advice would you give couples who are in the process of planning a wedding or elopement?

Two key pieces of advice:

  • First, hire a planner 😉. The wedding day is just one day, but the planning process lasts months – and enjoying that journey (instead of feeling stressed) is a big part of the overall wedding experience.
  • Second, focus on how you want the day to feel, not just how it should look. That feeling is what you and your guests will remember forever. Emotions last, details fade.

When you’re not at a wedding, what do you love doing?

We love keeping busy and being involved in the local community. We are also very family-oriented and love spending time with friends and making the most of everyday moments. We’re curious, spontaneous and genuinely enjoy having fun – whether that’s planning something last minute, hiking or skiing in the mountains, or simply being together.

Do you have a dream wedding or elopement you’d love to do?

A genuine and meaningful elopement in a remote mountain location, focused on the couple, their vows, and the place they’ve chosen. Simple, respectful and intentional – exactly what we already do 😉
