Meet Christine & Scott
Tell us your story
We’re Christine and Scott, an American adventure elopement photo + video team based in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany, and working across the Alps. We help couples craft and capture awe-inspiring elopements that foster greater connection between each other and the world around them.
We’re an American husband and wife photo + video team. While neither of us grew up in the mountains, we both got into hiking and adventure sports as adults. We met in Alaska while working for the same company in a small seaside town. One of our early dates was, I, Christine, teaching Scott how to photograph the northern lights.
Before meeting, I had been passionate about landscape photography. Scott encouraged me to take the engagement photos of some friends, though, and eventually, that grew into photographing weddings and elopements. Scott had been interested in videography since high school and ended up joining me in the business. He’s also a passionate software engineer. In 2019, we moved our business overseas to the Alps, an area I had previous ties to.

How long have you been working in the wedding industry?
We’ve been photographing weddings and elopements since the end of 2018.
What made you get into weddings & elopements?
After getting married in the Spring of 2018, our own wedding photographer referred me to a couple looking for an elopement photographer. Between that, and living in some beautiful areas that couples were already thinking of celebrating in, it all just came together and grew.
What do you love about intimate weddings and elopements?
I love that intimate weddings and elopements allow couples to plan the trip of a lifetime (that includes getting married) in a way that is nearly limitless. Seeing couples genuinely excited about the act of getting married, and carefully planning an experience that feels ‘’them’’ without expectations of what that should look like is a beautiful thing. For example, once we worked with a couple where one partner is a geologist. The geologist implemented a special poem she wrote about the rocks into their ceremony. It was so ‘’them’’, and really cool to witness this shared passion.

How would you describe your approach to your work?
We’ve noticed that the majority of couples who elope want to elope because they’re looking for a stress-free alternative to traditional weddings. Because of that, we put a lot of effort into the planning process itself. Creating systems that allow couples to feel confident in their elopement decision and know they have help every step of the way, so it doesn’t feel overwhelming, is key to that. Those small planning steps ahead of time can allow couples to fully relax the day of and just enjoy the adventure they’re on.
On the day of, we like to take a hands-off approach as much as possible, while still providing couples guidance when needed/wanted so they can feel like the best version of themselves in their photos and film.

What’s your favourite part of a wedding day?
One of the most fulfilling parts of an elopement day is watching couples be completely in awe of the landscape they’re in. Hearing comments like, ‘’this doesn’t even feel real’’, or ‘’wow, I can’t believe places like this exist, fills up my cup. Helping couples create meaningful experiences and life-long memories in these surreal places is a really exciting aspect of the job.
What advice would you give couples who are in the process of planning a wedding or elopement?
Social media can create a lot of noise, and sometimes can make it hard to know what you really want. Don’t get stuck in the early stages planning loop, looking at inspiration and feeling overwhelmed. Instead, seek out a professional early on. They can quiet the noise, support you, and help you create the unique experience you actually want.
When you’re not at a wedding, what do you love doing?
In our free time, we love to spend as much time outside as possible. Whether it’s hiking, scrambling, trail running, we enjoy each other’s company and being in the mountains. Since 2020, we’ve hiked and climbed 250+ summits (individually) in the Alps. We know these mountains like the back of our hand, and feel so fulfilled sharing these majestic landscapes with others. Also, we’re huge fans of the night sky and enjoy stargazing.
Do you have a dream wedding or elopement you’d love to do?
We’d love to photograph a mountaineering elopement that involves a ceremony on a glacier. This would require a guide, but could be SO COOL to do. We’re glacier-obsessed, and always are filled with wonder being out in the alpine. On a less extreme scale, there are a few really unique mountain huts with epic glacier views that we’d love to photograph with a hiking couple.
