We join Cadie and Connor on their unforgettable honeymoon in Barcelona, a city that seamlessly blends history, culture, and romance.
This session captures the essence of their love story, showcasing their adventures in Park Güell, exploring the city’s vibrant neighborhoods, and simply enjoying each other’s company.
With stunning city and heartfelt moments, this photo shoot is a testament to the beauty of love and the magic of travel.
How did you choose the location?
We fell head over heels for Barcelona the moment we saw pictures of its vibrant architecture and stunning beaches. The city’s rich culture and delicious food were just the icing on the cake! It’s one of our dream locations!
Do you require any special permits or permission from landowners to get married or have a photoshoot here?
Not that we know of! Barcelona is a very tourist-friendly city, and we didn’t encounter any restrictions for our photoshoot.
How easy is the location to access? Is it suitable for all ages and abilities?
Barcelona is super accessible. We got around easily using public transportation. Even though Park Güell is a bit hilly, there are options for those with limited mobility.
Was sustainability something that was considered during planning?
Absolutely! We wanted to make sure our honeymoon was as eco-friendly as possible. We researched sustainable accommodations, tried to minimize our waste, and supported local businesses.
Barcelona is a city that takes sustainability seriously. Things like reducing plastic waste, conserving water, and using public transportation are important to keep in mind.
Just like anywhere else, it’s important to leave no trace in Barcelona. That means picking up after ourselves, staying on designated trails, and respecting the local environment.
What are your top tips for planning an elopement or photo session in this area?
- Choosing the location is a personal decision that depends on your preferences and the vibe you want to create.
- Many couples opt for outdoor, open-air environments like parks or beaches, as they offer beautiful natural light and scenic backdrops. However, there are also plenty of indoor options, such as historic buildings or art galleries, if you prefer a more urban setting.
- Once you’ve chosen a location, research the best time of year to visit. Consider factors like weather, crowds, and the availability of specific venues or activities.
- Book your photographer and other vendors well in advance, especially during peak tourist seasons.
- Consider hiring a local guide to help you navigate the city and discover hidden gems.
- Don’t be afraid to be creative and personalize your elopement or photo session to reflect your unique story and style.
We loved Barcelona in the spring. The weather was perfect, and there were fewer crowds.
How did the couple meet and why did they decide to have a honeymoon photo session?
We met on Hinge! We matched two days after he downloaded the app.
During our sunset photos at our wedding, our photographer Maggie asked where we were going on our honeymoon. After further description of our trip details, we realized we all would be in Barcelona at the same time. Maggie was gracious to offer to meet up and take pictures of us!
We hope to move to Europe one day, and Connor is fluent in Spanish, so we decided to check out Spain!
Any other advice you’d like to share based on your experience?
Don’t be afraid to get lost in Barcelona! The city is full of surprises. Also, be sure to try the local food and wine. It’s amazing!
