A rainy day elopement. While most couples wouldn’t want rain on their special day, this elopement shows how incredible rain can actually be for your wedding photos. With a ceremony at one of the most gorgeous hotels in Venice, their day oozes romance and magic.

Why Did the Couple Choose Venice for Their Elopement?

Marcos & Nathaly: Venice felt right. My husband and I wanted an experience, not just an event, in a place that feels magical and timeless where we were able to create memories that feel like a once-in-a-lifetime adventure. We wanted a day that felt intimate, intentional, and deeply romantic, not rushed or performative. A destination elopement let us strip away expectations and focus on what actually matters: the two of us, the promise, and the moment.

What Are the Best Tips for Planning an Elopement in Venice?

Marcos & Nathaly: Get yourself a wedding planner with experience and that knows the area well. Be open minded as the plans could change based on the weather.

Carlo, the photographer: Always ensure you ask management for permission to hold the ceremony in the main room on the first floor and to take photos on the grand staircase if you are using the Ca’ Sagredo Hotel. If you are a guest of the hotel and request permission from the management, there are usually no issues. For those not staying at the hotel, I believe there is a fee for photography and ceremony permits, but we are not aware of the exact cost. Be sure to ask if the library room is available; it is absolutely spectacular.
