Saloni and Darshit made an anniversary trip to Slovenia in the winter time. Darshit had already proposed to Saloni in Malta but his parents were unable to be there. So when they planned this trip, Saloni also planned a proposal so his parents could be included.
Lake Jasna, with its stunning turquoise waters and mountain backdrops, made for the perfect location for this wedding proposal, documented by Nejc Bole.

Can you Tell Us a Bit About The Proposal?

Saloni: It was our 8-year Anniversary and because he has always loved the mountains, I instantly knew this trip was the perfect moment to make something truly special. His parents could not make it when he proposed to me in Malta but when they decided to visit Europe everything just aligned. I invited his parents to join our anniversary trip to Slovenia, hoping to include them in a way that would mean the world to him.

Being surrounded by the mountains he loves, with his parents there to give their blessing, made the moment feel absolutely magical. Everything fell into place so beautifully, better than I could have ever planned.

Who chose the location?

Nejc, the photographer: The couple already came to me with the idea of using this location. The area is open to public, no permits are needed and it is free.

How easy is the location to access? Is it quiet or crowded?

Nejc: Very rast. We were there early in the morning and it was extremely cold, so there were only a few people around. Otherwise it gets crowded very quickly.

How did you approach capturing photos of the proposal and still keeping it a surprise?

Nejc: I was there and they “randomly” asked me if can take a photo of them with their iPhone.

What are your top tips for planning a proposal in this area?

Nejc: Try to avoid crowds by coming early in the morning, preferably during the week days. It gets busy quickly here.

Is there a best time of year to visit this location?

Nejc: It gets magical in every time od the year. This time we were delighted with a fresh snow a day before the proposal took place.

Any other advice or tips you would like to share based on your experience?

Nejc: Go with the flow, but be prepared for everything 🙂
