Susan & John: We instantly fell in love with Sirmione and the beauty of Lake Garda. It felt peaceful, romantic, and exactly the kind of place where we wanted to start this new chapter together. We wanted a destination that was both breathtaking and relaxed, where we could celebrate with our closest family and friends while creating unforgettable memories. Italy has always held a special place in our hearts, and getting married there felt like a dream come true!
We chose to elope because we wanted our wedding day to be about us and the commitment we were making to each other, without the pressure of a big traditional wedding. It gave us the freedom to create a day that reflected who we are and to focus on what mattered most ,our love and the memories we were making together!:)

Susan & John: We had a symbolic ceremony. It gave us the freedom to exchange our vows in the beautiful setting we had always dreamed of, without having to worry about the legal paperwork on the day. It felt incredibly personal, intimate, and meaningful, making the experience even more special.

Susan & John: Since it was just the two of us, keeping our wedding small naturally made it a more sustainable celebration. Do You Recommend June For Getting Married in Sirmione?
Susan & John: Absolutely! We got married during one of the most beautiful times of the year, and it couldn’t have been more perfect. The weather was warm, the scenery around Lake Garda was stunning, and Sirmione had such a relaxed, romantic atmosphere. We’d definitely recommend this time of year to other couples,just be sure to book your venue and accommodations early, as it’s a popular season!

The magic of this location is in its relaxed atmosphere and incredible scenery, so don’t try to overplan every minute. We wrote our own vows, took time to explore the beautiful streets of Sirmione together, and enjoyed a quiet dinner overlooking Lake Garda. Being able to slow down, soak in every moment, and celebrate just the two of us made the day feel incredibly personal and unforgettable!
How much was your overall budget/spend for your wedding/elopement?
Susan & John: Approximately €15,000. We chose to invest in the experience rather than a traditional wedding, focusing on an incredible venue Villa Cortine, beautiful photography and videography from Dreamwood Films, and creating unforgettable memories together.

Susan & John: Our biggest priority was creating an unforgettable experience for just the two of us. Susan & John: Planning a wedding from another country definitely came with a few challenges. Coordinating everything from a distance and choosing vendors we had never met in person felt a little overwhelming at first. Susan & John: Our biggest advice is to embrace the slower pace and make the most of the destination, not just the wedding day. Give yourselves time to explore Sirmione, enjoy long dinners, watch the sunset over Lake Garda, and soak in the atmosphere. Hiring local vendors made everything so much easier they knew the best locations and took care of all the little details. Most importantly, don’t feel like you have to follow traditions. Plan a day that feels like you, enjoy every moment together, and remember that the best memories often come from the unplanned moments!

We were laughing the whole time as the wind caught our hair and we took in the incredible views of the lake and the mountains. It felt so freeing and reminded us to simply enjoy the moment together:)
