Why Did You Decide To Have A Destination Wedding In Italy?
Christina & Maxim: We chose this destination because it felt like us. It offered the perfect balance of natural beauty, intimacy, and adventure, making it the ideal place to celebrate our love and start our marriage together!
Italy had always been our dream destination, so we decided that when the time came, we wanted to get married there. It felt like the perfect way to combine our wedding with a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Looking back, it was the best decision we could have made. Celebrating our special day in such a beautiful place with our closest family and friends made it even more meaningful and unforgettable!!
What Made Villa La Vittoriana Perfect for a Small, Intimate Wedding?
Christina & Maxim: We fell in love with the venue the moment we saw it. It had everything we were looking for breathtaking views of Lake Garda, a relaxed atmosphere, and a setting that felt elegant without being overly formal.
Did You Have A Civil (Legal) Ceremony, or A Symbolic Ceremony?
Christina & Maxim: We had a symbolic ceremony in Lake Garda after taking care of the legal marriage paperwork at home, allowing us to enjoy a relaxed and personal celebration.
Did you consider sustainability, or incorporate any cultural aspects of Lake Garda into your Wedding?
Christina & Maxim: We didn’t incorporate traditional customs, but we wanted the destination itself to be part of the celebration. From the local food and wine to the stunning scenery and relaxed Italian lifestyle, we let the beauty and culture of Lake Garda create the atmosphere for our wedding. While sustainability wasn’t a primary focus, we kept our wedding intimate by inviting only our closest family and friends. A smaller celebration naturally meant less waste and a more thoughtful, meaningful experience for everyone.

Sharing such a beautiful setting in Lake Garda with our nearest and dearest made the experience incredibly special and unforgettable.
Do You Recommend August For Getting Married In Lake Garda?
Christina & Maxim: Absolutely! August gave us beautiful, reliable weather and made the most of Lake Garda’s incredible scenery. The long, sunny days and warm evenings created the perfect atmosphere for an outdoor celebration and stunning photos. It is one of the busiest times of year, so we’d recommend planning ahead.
Mikhail, the photographer & videographer: Lake Garda is beautiful almost all year, but we especially love May, June, September, and early October. The weather is usually comfortable, and the light is gorgeous. August is also amazing if you love that lively summer feeling, just expect more visitors. As photographers, golden hour is always our favorite time of day. The light becomes soft, warm, and incredibly flattering.
Did you Face any challenges While Planning your Wedding in Italy?
Christina & Maxim: Planning a destination wedding definitely came with a few challenges, mainly coordinating everything from abroad and making sure all of our guests had the information they needed for travel and accommodation. We overcame it by planning well in advance, staying organized, and trusting our amazing local vendors. Having an experienced team on the ground made the whole process much smoother, allowing us to relax and truly enjoy our wedding day.
What Advice Would You Give to Others Planning a Wedding in Lake Garda?
Christina & Maxim: Plan ahead, but don’t get too caught up in every little detail.Most importantly, keep the day true to yourselves. We invited only our closest family and friends, and that made the whole experience feel so much more personal and meaningful.One piece of advice we’d give every couple is to invest in a great photographer and videographer. Your wedding day goes by so quickly, and having professionals who can capture not only the beautiful portraits but also all the spontaneous, emotional, and funny moments is absolutely priceless. Looking back at those photos and videos lets you relive the day over and over again, and for us, that’s one of the best investments we made.
Mikhail, the photographer & videographer: Our biggest tip is not to pack your schedule too tightly. One of the best things about getting married in Italy is the atmosphere, so leave time to actually enjoy it. Plan ahead, especially if you’re getting married during the summer and make sure you have time set aside for sunset portraits – you’ll never regret it.
Don’t get too caught up trying to make everything perfect. Some of the best moments happen when you simply slow down and enjoy the day. Choose vendors you genuinely trust, build a relaxed timeline, and be present with the people you’ve traveled all this way to celebrate with. And if there’s one thing we’d always recommend, it’s investing in photography and videography. Your wedding day goes by so fast, but the photos and films are what you’ll come back to for years to relive those emotions.
What Were the Most Memorable Moments?
Christina & Maxim: One of the most memorable moments from our wedding was when my husband’s friends unexpectedly lifted him into the air during the celebration. It was such a spontaneous and hilarious moment that had everyone laughing. Thankfully, our photographers captured it perfectly, and those photos always bring a smile to our faces. It was definitely the funniest and one of the most unforgettable moments of the day)).
Why Is Lake Garda One of the Best Places to Get Married in Europe?
Christina & Maxim: Italy had always been our dream destination, and we kept saying, “One day we’ll go there.” When we got engaged, we realized, why not make that dream even more special and get married there? It felt like the perfect opportunity to combine our wedding with an unforgettable trip. Looking back, it was the best decision we could have made. Sharing such an incredible place with our closest family and friends made our wedding even more meaningful, and we’d do it all over again!
What Was Your Overall Budget and When Planning Your Budget, What Were Your Priorities?
Christina & Maxim: We focused on investing in the things that mattered most to us rather than sticking to a specific number. Our priorities were the venue, photography, great food and wine, and creating an unforgettable experience for our closest family and friends. Every part of the budget was spent on making the day feel meaningful and memorable,€20,000–€30,000.

If you’re planning portraits in public spaces around the lake, permits usually aren’t needed for small weddings or elopements, but it’s always a good idea to check in advance if you’re visiting a historic site or protected area.
