Picture an old Dutch farm, currently run by the 5th generation of the same family in a location that’s been lived on since 1272. Everything is ran with sustainability and nature in mind. This is the location Anique and Arthur picked for their peach themed micro-wedding in The Netherlands. It turned out to be a warm, sunny Summer’s day that felt like it was Italy instead of The Netherlands! Their dream was an outdoor dinner with their closest loved ones on a long table that gave an Italian feel and vibe.
Can you tell us a bit about the location?
Erfgoed Bossem is an old Dutch farm that has been in the same family for the past 5 generations. It is ran with nature, the eco system and sustainability in mind. They are still an active, working cattle farm and you can experience the genuine farm life when you visit. It’s in a location that has been lived on since 1272.
It’s an idyllic location that is perfectly suited for a laid back, outdoor wedding.
Erfgoed Bossem is known for its focus on sustainable tourism and offers a range of activities that allow guests to immerse themselves in nature, such as guided walks, bike rides, and stargazing sessions. The property also has a farm where guests can interact with animals and learn about sustainable farming practices.
In addition to its eco-friendly accommodations and activities, Erfgoed Bossem also emphasizes local cuisine, serving meals made from ingredients sourced from the region. Overall, it’s a great place for nature lovers looking for a unique and environmentally conscious travel experience.
Anique and Arthur said I do in the forest on the farm grounds, surrounded by their closest loved ones. Their day ended with a wonderful outdoor dinner underneath the trees.
How did the couple meet?
They met in the parking lot of the local supermarket. Anique was driving with her friend and Arthur drove behind her on the way home so she figured he must live close by. Later that evening she decided to go find his car and put a note on his windshield with her phone number. She didn’t hear anything until a few days later she found a note on her windshield with his number on it. Turns out she put the note on the wrong car and he never received it! Luckily he had the same idea she did and they connected. The rest as they say, is history.
