Oberstdorf

Located in the southwest corner of Germany, you’ll find the idyllic town of Oberstdorf. Eloping to Oberstdorf places you in the heart of the Allgäu mountains, which stand rugged, and wild. Surrounding this region, there are numerous nature preserves that protect Oberstdorf’s beauty. Elopements in Oberstdorf are particularly well suited for couples who want to ski in winter, or envision lush, green peaks and waterfalls throughout summer. During your elopement in Oberstdorf, don’t overlook staying in a comfortable mountain chalet.

Berchtesgaden National Park (Schönau am Königssee)

Schönau am Königssee, a welcoming mountain town in the eastern Bavarian Alps, makes a unique elopement location with unbelievable landscapes. Just next to Schönau am Königssee, you’ll find Germany’s famous Berchtesgaden National Park. Berchtesgaden boasts of scenery you’d assume to be Norway. Towering, dome shaped mountains rise above the fjord-like Königssee (lake). To explore the area, you can boat across the lake and be dropped at various trails, or take one of the numerous local cable cars. Schönau am Königssee is well worth considering as your Germany elopement destination. Because of the region’s popularity, the best time to go is during late-spring or autumn.

Tegernsee

Tegernsee, Germany is the ideal elopement location for couples who want to spend time relaxing with a view. The small resort town sits next to the sparkling waters of a lake (also called Tegernsee). Behind the town, gentle mountains rise up. For one of the best views in the area, don’t miss taking the Wallberg cable car. Atop the mountain, you’ll be met with a small chapel and beautiful panorama. Tegernsee makes an especially good winter destination, with numerous local ski areas, snowshoe and XC ski trails, and even groomed sledding runs over 5 km in length!

Füssen (next to Germany’s famed Neuschwanstein Castle)

Füssen, Germany is a small, bustling town located next to Germany’s famed Neuschwanstein Castle. Eloping in Füssen can be a great option for couples that love history, architecture, and yes, adventure too. Within town, you can try new beer, visit museums, or relax at one of the local spas. Just outside town, your elopement can include exploring brilliant blue lakes, mountain-top cable car rides, or heading to one of the local castles.
