When Elizabeth & Matt got engaged, she knew a traditional wedding wasn’t going to be for them. She wanted their wedding to be an unforgettable adventure. During a previous trip to Ireland, Elizabeth & Matt had taken a coach tour that passed through the village of Doolin and they both fell in love with this quaint Irish village in County Clare. The loved it’s welcoming atmosphere, the friendly locals, and the incredible scenery. So they decided that it would be the perfect destination for an intimate wedding celebration with the closest family and friends.
The weather on their wedding day was typically “Irish” (wild, wet and windy). But that didn’t deter Elizabeth and Matt in the slightest. In fact, they had been expecting it, and embraced it fully. Despite the howing winds and drizzle, they planned to hike over to the Cliffs of Moher for their ceremony, which their family and friends couldn’t quite believe. They honestly thought they would have made a plan B and done it at their farmhouse in the village.
But not Elizabeth and Matt. So the whole wedding party hiked out to the cliffs. With the strong winds, they chose a spot on more solid ground, away from the cliffs edge to be safe from any strong gusts of wind.
Their ceremony was conducted by Elizabeth’s brother, who read some passages from the Bible, told some stories about the couple, and joined them together with a hand-tying ceremony.
After the ceremony and some very windy photos by the cliffs, everyone headed back into the village of Doolin to warm up in the pub. Everyone enjoyed a typical Irish pub dinner, lots of Guiness and live folk music.
