The couple and their family have been visiting this region of France for many years, so not only did they have ties to the area, but also a number of local contacts they could call on for help when they were planning the wedding from their home in the USA.
They loved the charm of Château de Mons, with it’s historical features and position surrounded by vineyards. The château is now a hotel, with many rooms available for guests. This meant that there was enough space to house almost everyone under one roof.
Can Foreign Couples Get Married Here?
Château de Mons has a small chapel where weddings can take place. However, for couples who are not resident in France, the ceremony is not legally binding and is purely symbolic in nature.
For Chelsea & Matt, they chose to have a family friend preside over the ceremony instead of finding an English-speaking officiant in France.
