Leo proposed at sunset at a mountain lake in Zermatt Switzerland. He ordered 99 roses to come up there for her. Then they added star photos at night and a sunrise pre-wedding photo shoot which is very common in Asia.
It was all a magical experience for them. We asked their photographer Malin a few questions about this wonderful session.
What makes this location special? Why should other couples consider it for a proposal?
This place is so unique as it’s one of a kind for someone that loves adventures! For a proposal or elopement, both are great. You need to hike there and either stay in a nearby mountain hut or camp.
The scenery is breathtaking and it’s easy to add on a full engagement adventure or elopement adventure.
How involved were you in helping plan the proposal and how smoothly did it go on the day?
I give support from start to end, from finding the right location, to the setting up of the proposal. It all depends on the needs and the wishes of the client.
It’s a well visited lake so to find a spot where there are no people is not given and can be challenging, but luckily for us it went all well.
What advice would you give to couples considering having a proposal
photographed?
My advice would be to hire an experienced photographer who includes planning in the package and who has also shot in the area before to avoid having surprises.
It’s a once in a life time experience – go ALL IN! Be sure to have your session at sunset or sunrise for the most beautiful light.
